“For what the horse does under compulsion is done without understanding; and there is no beauty in it either, any more if one should whip and spur a dancer.”
~ Xenophon"
Importance is placed on quiet, calm and knowledgeable schooling with our Spanish horses, based on the principles of the old masters who aimed for lightness, elegance and harmony through precise aids and sympathetic awareness of the horse.
Our Andalusian horses are each at various levels of dressage, from youngsters currently being backed, to senior schoolmasters. Refining the natural talents of our horses through years of classical schooling provides you with horses which never fail to give invaluable lessons in sensitivity, communication and understanding; lessons which bring joy to the rider as the benefits of their improved feel for the horse become obvious.
The horses are mainly stallions, as is the custom in the Iberian Peninsula. Their temperament is exceptional, with great docility, tolerance and even a sense of humour!
Did you know that Spanish horses are known by several names; the Andalusian horse, Spanish Andalusian, Spanish horse, PRE horse, or historically as Baroque horses. His name in Spanish is Pura Raza Española (PRE).
